Description:
Elotuzumab, a monoclonal antibody, selectively targets glyocproteins that are highly expressed on myeloma cells but not on healthy cells. In the presence of elotuzumab, myeloma cells undergo cell lysis and death. Clinical trials are currently underway to examine the activity of elotuzumab in patients with refractory or relapsed myeloma.
