Thankfully we caught it early enough to be treated. He was then switched to Velcade and Dexamethasone combination and after 3 cycles contracted pneumonia and RSV. It seems that some people with MM are more prone to infections than others - he hasn't experienced any problems with his skeleton or organs to date (touch wood!) so that's his trade-off.
