Life With Cancer Myeloma Support Group
Open to myeloma patients, family members, and friends, this group alternates between discussion and educational presentations to promote education and support. Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month from 11:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Dewberry Life with Cancer Family Center in Fairfax, VA.
Manhattan Multiple Myeloma Support Group
This group is directed toward both myeloma survivors and caregivers to promote support, education, sharing, and friendship. The group meets on the third Thursday of each month from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at St. Vincent’s Comprehensive Cancer Center in New York City. Street parking and a parking lot are available.
Morristown, New Jersey, Multiple Myeloma Support Group
This group meets on the second and fourth Mondays of each month from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Carol G. Simon Cancer Center in Morristown, NJ.
Phoenix Multiple Myeloma Support Group
This group is for both multiple myeloma survivors and caregivers and meets on the first Thursday of each month from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Wellness Community in Phoenix, AZ.
San Diego Multiple Myeloma Cancer Support Group
This group is open to myeloma patients, caregivers, and anyone with questions about multiple myeloma. It meets on the second Monday of the month from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the UTC area of La Jolla, CA. Each meeting has a guest speaker or is an open forum for discussion of questions and concerns.
San Francisco Bay Area Multiple Myeloma Support Group
This group is for myeloma patients and caregivers to learn about and discuss myeloma diagnosis, symptoms, markers, treatments, side-effects, clinical trials, quality of life, and other related topics. Speakers include oncologists, nutritionists, naturopathic physicians, and integrative/alternative specialists. The group meets on the third Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at various locations in the Bay Area. Attendance ranges from 30 to 50 participants. Southern Arizona Multiple Myeloma Education and Support Group
This close-knit group provides valuable resources, offers a safe setting for the expression of thoughts and feelings, and promotes self-advocacy for patients, survivors, caretakers, and friends. It meets on the third Saturday of each month from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Unity Church in Tucson, AZ. For the first hour of the meeting, professional speakers present information on important myeloma topics; the second hour is dedicated to group discussion.
