Emily Cole's Archive

Emily is currently a graduate student at Princeton University in the Department of Chemistry where her research focuses on the reduction of carbon dioxide to fuels using solar energy. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in May of 2005 with a BS in Chemistry. Emily joined LKR in October 2008 as a writer and managing editor for The Myeloma Beacon where she hopes to bring her experience conveying scientific information to a general audience. Her many interests include tennis and horseback riding.

The overall incidence and death rates from cancer fell for the first time in the United States for men and women.  Death rates due to multiple myeloma decreased for both men and women.  However, the risk of developing myeloma remained the same in women and increased in men.
